Intelligent 2D Visual Inspection System for Cap Production | Guala Closures Bulgaria
ALFABOT implemented a project for Guala Closures Bulgaria — a leading manufacturer of plastic caps for the food industry. We deployed a high-speed 2D visual inspection system, developed according to the client’s specific requirements.
The solution uses industrial computer vision and consists of two independent inspection points. These are integrated into the automated production lines:
🔹 Inspection during Cap Body Assembly
The first camera is installed on the assembly machine. It checks the presence and integrity of the transparent cap body. The entire process — from image capture and analysis to communication with the production line — takes about 200 milliseconds. This enables very high-speed operation. When a defect is detected, the system automatically signals and rejects the faulty product.
🔹 Final Visual Inspection
The second camera monitors the final appearance of the fully assembled caps. It is fully synchronized with the production line. The system removes caps with visual defects that do not meet quality standards.
The system is designed to operate in an environment where human inspection is impossible due to the speed and precision required. Additionally, the integration fully meets the client’s needs. The solution offers flexibility for future upgrades and adaptation to different cap models.
