Intelligent 2D Vision System for Plasma Cutting of Metal Parts | SL Industries
ALFABOT developed a specialized custom solution for SL Industries, a company in the metalworking sector. This project integrates the ABVision 2D industrial vision system with a German CLOOS plasma cutting machine and an industrial CLOOS robot.
🔹 What does the solution include?
ABVision 2D Industrial Vision System
The system scans the working area, which measures up to 12 m by 2 m. It recognizes different metal parts and provides their exact coordinates.
Two-way communication with CLOOS Industrial Robot
The system integrates with the main CLOOS robot. It uses specialized code written in their proprietary communication language. This enables full synchronization and automatic data exchange about the parts.
Flexible processing
The working area divides into two sections. This design allows loading new parts on one side while the other side is being processed. The system recognizes multiple parts, which can vary in type and position.
Automatic synchronization and processing
After recognizing the parts, the system links their coordinates to preloaded cutting codes in the robotic system. This setup enables sequential and fully automated processing.
Part training module
A quick training module allows a new part to be trained and linked with processing codes in about 2 minutes.
Reliable operation in challenging conditions
The system works reliably and precisely despite changing natural and artificial lighting in the work environment.
